Penguins, penguins, penguins!
We had so much fun learning about these funny birds. Everyday I put the live penguin cam on in our classroom so that we could observe them. The kids really loved this. I did a drawing lesson with them and we learned how to draw our own penguins. Then, after drawing them we measured them with cubes to see how tall they were.
We also did a penguin directional art activity. We made the penguins the first day, and then on the second day we did a penguin/ fish addition activity. The students had 2 colors of fish. They rolled the die and that is how many of the 1st color that they were to put on the left wing. Then, they rolled again & that was the number of fish that they put on the right wing. After that, they filled in the number sentence for their equations. A very cute activity!! I still cannot get these pictures to rotate to the upright postition, ugh!
I had a sick baby for Valentine's day, so I didn't get to do some of the activities that I usually do with them. They did get to do some heart measuring! Check them out...
The 100th day of school is always fun! I had previously asked them to bring in a collection of 100 things. On the 100th day we made a 100 collage with our collections. This is always a fun activity. They have to figure out how to get ALL 100 of their objects in their collage. Here are some examples...
We also did $100 writing...if I had $100 I would buy...I will post the pics from those later...
Ok, I hope that gets me caught up!
